Thank you for this email. It is really a pleasure to host with AFRIHOST. I am new to this business of hosting and my “hobby” of playing around with websites is really growing. Lately I managed to setup a database on my site and the feedback from the users are great.

I want to compliment you and your staff of setting up a really user friendly interface for “dummies” like me. It is really a pleasure to go into the control panel, and have full control on everything. I used to host at a company in the UK and their panel was really a nightmare. I was also now quite surprise to see all the add-ons on the new client zone. It is a one stop information centre for me.

My favourite features are:

1. The "My Billing" section (one tends to loose track, especially when it comes to debit orders - this solves the problem)
2. The direct access to the cpanel of all your domains - this is brilliant: one password and you're on your way!
3. The fax2mail - I havent used it yet, but I know i will in the near future, the "MyBackups" as well...

I genuinely appreciate your passion for bringing to SA a brilliant hosting solution, I'm about to start my own online computer trading company and out of the dozens of hosting solutions I've scoped out, you guys really strike me as the genuine thing, I sincerely hope we can have a good working relationship with one another as I build my trading empire making efficient use of your services.

- 'My Domains and Hosting' section is great as it gives me a clear overview of what's going on in respect of my domains..especially if I were to have multiple domains and sub-domains. Nice that it'll give a quick, clean, simple snapshot of what's active and what's not

- I appreciate the fact that in the My Backups section it offers a free 30 day trial.

-The Whole 'My Billing' section is quite a slick move on your part, that's the kind of thing that really makes me want to work with Afrihost instead of other lacksidasical hosting solutions, so well done!

-the video tutorials option from the 'getting started' window is a really good idea and shows how serious you are about providing a professional service

-the 'Fax2Email' service is fairly generic these days, however, I'd just like to point out that it's been well incorporated into the client zone, which streamlines my time spent managing different things in the client zone.

I'm not really too concerned about winning the Apple i-phone, but if it comes my way it'll be great cause it's definitely going to my brother who's been telling me how great it is :)

I have only been a customer of Afrihost for a few months and have only recently started using the Client Zone.
So i am not sure how it was before you implemented the Client Zone, but it certainly does make my life much easier.

I love 3 things about the client zone.

1) I love how i can see all my invoices in one easy place and therefore always know what I have paid for and why.
2) I love being able to do all my work from one central place, e.g. from the client zone I can log on to the Control Panel to view usage stats of my website, at the same time contact 24HR support if I discover something that is an anomaly. Whilst at the same time I am even able to change contact details, without even changing pages, which is great for someone like me who moves around a lot.
3) Lastly I especially like how for any product specials, they appear automatically advertised in my client zone. Because I log straight into the Client Zone and do not go through the website to get there, I am often unawares of opportunities to upgrade my hosting package or add a domain pointer package at reduced rates or as specials.

As mentioned only been with Afrihost for a few months, but thus far thoroughly enjoying the experience and hope the ease of use and prompt support continues.

Like the new Client Zone!
I appreciate the fact that I can see everything including my invoices and statements. This is handy so if I am looking for my invoices I don't have to filter through my emails trying to find a statement. All I need to do is find it online and it is always there. Then I can at the same time check out other important things regarding my site by clicking through to the Cpanel. It is handy so I don't need to log in twice on two different pages. Nice one!

I have a suggestion for you though:
The 24hr support is great and you guys get back to me always on the same day... great. However, how about some how-to's and tutorials on how to use the cpanel products like the CMS and blogging engines. I think a lot of people don't know where to start so even if it is introductory it would help a lot. I think if you share your knowledge on the features and how to use them properly then amateurs like myself would find it easier to make use of the different products available to us.

Regarding the new client zone. What a fantastic idea, one place to manage everything. I really like the idea of a single password for everything and the DNS management.

Great work as ever Afrihost. Still the best in South Africa, i will continue recommending you to everybody i know.

As far as suggestions go, i think the client zone may need some more text explaining whats what and what impact every action will have. Another idea would be to see a consolidated CPanel for all domains owned by a user. By the way, Fastansico....simply BRILLIANT.

My last idea would be a facility to sell off or trade domain names you already know, eg. I own www.jacs.co.za, dont need it anymore, perhaps there would be a way to sell it off?

I think the client zone is excellent. I love the fact that I can access the CPANEL for all my domains from one place. However, only two of my 4 domains have been added. The other two are older and are on a annual subscription. Their client zones can be accessed individually, but I would like to add them all together. I have requested to change the email address of the two older ones to the same as the 2 newer ones. I hope this will accomplish the above.

I also really like the invoices and statements section. I would really like to be able to request that invoices be emailed on a monthly basis though. I noticed that on some computers from which I accessed the client zone, I was unable to open the pdf invoice. On others it opened without a problem. The error message stated that the file couldn’t be accessed. No hassles with the html version.

simple and easy you've made my life now!
I love the ability to manage all the existing and new services you guys
added from the comfort of my browser. Not that i don't enjoy talking to
your guys, whom are always very friendly, but this really does make it
simple.

The one feature that stands out for me is the faxtoemail service we can now
generate for family, friends, website viewers.

My suggestion wrt this service is;

If you allow your clients to generate a % of the revenue you guys generate
from the 086 fax number usage then it will motivate your clients/webmasters
to actively pursue more users for this service which will eventually mean
huge revenue for Afrihost on this simple service and obviously some revenue
to clients as well.

If any of your clients work for big companies and they can, on their own
devices, convince their companies to go over to this free service then you
can only imagine the benefit to you and the client.

Think it over.

The REASON: A few months back, I spoke to one of the help desk guys on a regular basis, as I have about 20 domains with your company and always forgetting the passwords, or left the passwords at home when I am at the office. He then advised me about the new client zone with only one password. And then I entered the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to EASY domain(s) management.

DO NOT take it away as it made my life much less complicated.

When I normally enter any other site, it usually takes at least 30 seconds and then with each click, at least 30 seconds more; but with yours, everything happens in the blink of an eye!

Suggestion: Put a logout button or menu item in the top right that logs you out straight away without confirmation. Also change the existing logout to just logout without confirmation.

Well, I am completely blown away by the Clientzone. It's concise, straight forward and allows for the domain user to completely control their domain and accounts. Above all this, the 24 hour help is something I have NOT seen with any other provider. To sum it all up: WELL DONE!!!

My only criticism is that the styling is a little bit noisy. I admit I am a perfectionist when it comes to this so it's really no biggy. For example I would be more consistent with colours and then with the use of type-faces.

Other than that - I am proud to have Afrihost as my provider.

I like the idea of the Client Zone very much!
Especially the part about being to manage my own DNS - except that that part doesn't seem to work?

It's also very nice to be able to view statements,billing on line.

Another small suggestion: I updated my details, but wanted to keep my phone numbers as they were.
The update system wouldn't let me. I had to take all the spaces out of the existing numbers before the update succeeded.

Maybe you can modify your checking system to remove spaces before checking for 10 characters?

Receiving a fax to my email address means all my customers still have the option of emailing me. It also means I can have a paper free desk and can keep all my faxes in my inbox.

Primarily, what this new service feature does for me is to remind me that you are always looking for new ways to improve service and to add value to your clients. I like that about a company. It shows that you are pro-active and working to make things better. That’s evolution. I like that. I am not a techie so appreciate that the way that you have set up your client Zone is simple and easy to use. I’ve been playing around with the Client Zone and I must admit this is a great portal page. I’ve always loved summaries and reports and that’s exactly what you offer. The free fax to e-mail is wonderful and the fact that I can send any details to myself if I’ve forgotten passwords, etc. is a really handy tool.

Unfortunately the ftp and cpanel login shortcuts don’t work on my side, that would be a great feature if you could get it working. It seems to be using the old/original passwords not the new ones that I’ve set up after wards.

It’s a simple interface and very user-friendly, just how I like it. I’ve already got it saved under my favorites menu. J

I think the Client Zone is wonderful because I can do the basic business administration of operating my web space without having to being a web master. It complements all the tech stuff on the CPanel that I am not really efficient at managing yet.

Also, thank you for the fax to email capability – I will definitely be extending my use of this for my team.

The other point is that I discovered you do data hosting, something I have been wanting to provide as part of my business offering for the software that I provide in performance management (of a business).

Hi,

I had a look at you client zone and it look great. This is beter way to manage all your domains as one, instead of remembering a couple of usernames and passwords for all the domains.

A couple of things that I have picked up is:

1. Under My Product the My Domains & Hosting and the CPanel Login is the same. This to me is not needed and as you can already access this under the My Domains section.

2. When I viewed an Invoice, it listed 2 domains but on the My Domains section it only listed the one (sadc-rc.co.za). Not sure why though.

If I think of anything else I will respond to the email again.

On a side note, I never had any problems with Afrihost and have always got a speedy response to any question or query that I had. I always recommend Afrihost to anybody that is looking for hosting or domain options.

I need to register another domain, but will wait a bit. Perhaps I get lucky and get one of the free domains, or the iPhone.

I had a look at your clientzone - it is great to have a 'one stop shop' that covers everything. No extra searches. One point though - I needed to access the 'forgot my password' function, and although I clicked on it and eventually got the message that it had been sent to me, after the initial click nothing happens - I would like to know that when I have clicked on, it something is going to happen, now you just click away and no immidiate response untill the message appears. This is not crucial but in this day and age on the internet when you click on something it shows you that you have done so..

I've just had a quick squizz at the client zone. It all looks good, very user friendly, which is important. Just 1 thing though, not sure if it's my pc or not, but won't hurt to have a look...at the bottom of the home page (after the faq's), there are "info blocks" per say. The writing in the blocks needs to have more of a flow to it. The writing should not go over the "divisions" of the blocks. Other than that, it's great!

Brilliant idea, I hate the fact of having thousands of Passwords and always try and keep them the same but then low and behold one day you need to change the password and can't use the same one again.

Here everything is nicely bundled together and I also don't have to have a host of favourite listed in my browser for each individual site such as the DNS Management, Cpanel, Etc.

A suggestion however could be to have a link directly from the client zone to Webmail so that one does not have to go to Cpanel first, unless I have missed it.

All in all a great idea.

First of all I must say that it's such a user-friendly site.
Your links to "my Billing" is great, 'cause I usely don't get any Statements & Invoices emailed or posted and
it just makes it easier for both Afrihost and myself...I can view and download it myself! - SUPER

I also like the idea that with a click I can quickly access my "Products" - it is currently a slight shlepp to go through it via the web,
and going via "Client Zone" is just perfect!

The "My Backups" link is a winner as well - on the "How it Works" tab is now so easy to backup and restore my data as well! - GREAT!

In all - It really look great and works great! could not find any bugs with broken links for that matter.

As a reseller I really enjoy a central place where I can manage all my domains without having to wade through my records to find user names and passwords. Also like the fact that all the invoices are available which make life easier with re-conciling accounts.

The client zone is working very well. I specially like the fact that I can not only my domain, but also the once I am responsible for. In my case three domains.

I makes life much easier instead of login into each one separately, I can do and see all from one login.

I recently experienced some problems with my site as well as emails. I must complement Oscar (Ticket ID: WCH-365773) for all his wonderful support.

Very easy to get around and gives a nice overview and summary of one’s services. Perhaps in the acounts and invoice section where it displays the invoices a field can be aded to indicated whether an acount was aid or is outstanding ( eg due to a returned debit order etc.), one can then at a glance see that you are up to date ith payments. I went to this section tocheck that I am up to date with payments but then there was no way to determine that.

I must admit I’m probably one of the unskilled users of the system.

I must say though that when entering the site the page looks very clean and easy to use. Small things like being able to access the invoices and statements is for an important issue especially as I have problems understand the payments in the past.

I probably need more time exploring the site and playing around with it. For example I tried to get into Fantastico to look around and I got the message that I had reached my limit. I don’t really understand why and its this that I need to get to grips with.

Generally it looks good to an inexperienced user so well done

I am really impressed with the new interface, I often wonder about my account and now I can get the info I need quickly without having to email your support or account staff.

I would like to ask about some training that was mentioned on your site to help site owners market better. is this still available?

Personally I love the new interface and wish that soon I can give something like it to my clients. But I will never participate in anything that offers those fax2email packages. The faxes are grossly overpriced and I believe send the wrong message to clients.

I like the new client zone as it allows me to manage everything from one central place. I can also now keep tabs on my accounts and being able to manage my DNS is a big plus.

I would give it a 10 out of 10 if it could make coffee but I don't see that feature anywhere yet so you'll have to settle with a 9. ;)

The client site is nice and quick; the fax2email is cool;

It would be handy to be able to change the password to a shorter one (currently it only supports 8 characters min); and it would be more convenient to be able to use the same password that I use for my email account (so I dont have to find the password every time I want to log in)

I love it... Very easy to use and great to be able to access so much more than cPanel (which I use often). Also great to be able to access past invoices and statements. Don't know if it is feasible to include some kind of "status" to let us know if all systems and servers are up and running - I guess if they weren't we wouldn't be able to access the Client Zone site in any case.

May also be nice to see a summary from cPanel on the home page. Something like... Your site has been viewed XX many times today and XX times this month.

What I like best is that I've got full access to all my account details. What I'm surprised about is that I don't see my own domain consciousvibe.co.za listed there, but only a domain that I organised for friends adlibstudios.net haha

The accounts section turned out to be useful as I found that an error reported on my account last month has not been auctioned. I have written to the accounts department.

To be honest, your control panel is already so good, it’s difficult to improve on the functionality further.

I haven’t updated my comic (freight-online.co.za) in almost 2 years, and for the life of me cannot remember anything about the hosting package I have with you guys. This Zone is really a fresh start for me whenever I get back into updating and working on it. Everything I’ve forgotten is there with links and you even have some easily accessible Bandwidth graphs outside of the Control Panel. This will save me HOURS of trawling through old emails (I mean really old emails) for the old links and stuff for the FTP and CPanel etc.

Here follows my comments on the Client Zone feature as requested in your email.

Firstly I was very impressed that I could change my contact details straight away as it was something I wanted to do previously.

Secondly I find it very useful to be able to have an overview of all the website's bandwidth usage, cpanel access and billing information at one glance.
I have also previously somehow lost the cpanel login information for one of the domains and had to request that information again through Afrihost's support. I am glad to see that I can acquire that information directly from the Client Zone.

If there is anything else I would suggest it would maybe be adding a feature where the client can change his/her own billing (bank - debit order) details??? (not sure how save that might be though).

Just wondering though about the Fax2e-mail service as to whether it is limited to South African residents only. If so then it would be nice to extend the service to your international clients like ourselves, even for a small fee.

I checked out the ClientZone and think you did a great job in setting it up.
I would suggest though that you put a drop down box listing the domain where the support is needed in the 24 Hour Support mail. This may be helpful to your staff as well to pin-point the correct domain. I believe that many users may forget that small detail when upset or frustrated about a domain.
Maybe also include the link to the home page to open in a new window when looking at My Domains? It may help a lot when you have numerous domains and need to quickly remind yourself of what the contents of it is.

It is incredibly user friendly and I have already printed out my latest invoice and statement to prove to the auditors what the R650 to Afrihost is. I too have downloaded the My Backups option and will try the demo for a month. I'll be sure to advise you should I like to take on the service monthly. I too am excited about the 24 hour support. Hopefully I won't have to use it at ridiculous hours however its nice to know its available should I need help. I also needed to request my password prior to login in since I had 'forgotten' it.

Otherwise, I couldn't suggest more since it seems like everything you have on there is there.

It all looks very nice. Handy to be able to see and handle both our domains in one time.

Some comments: when clicking on the cpanel icon we get different cpanels for our domains. On the cpanel of chillandsurf.co.za i’m even missing the awstats, which used to be there.

When clicking on invoices is looks like we still have to pay for two invoices, while after downloading the pdf account statements it look like everything is paid. The reality is that one invoice is paid, while the second one is in the payment process.

Great looking interface.

An additional item I would like to see on it would be a link to access webmail directly. I travel a lot and it would make it simpler if I had one site to log into from where I could click through to my email as well as have access to the client zone info.

Not necessarily something for the client zone – probably better suited to the cpanel is the following: As a small business I cannot afford the services of web design companies. So I drew up my website myself. I doubt that I am the only one out there who has done that. I see from the cpanel that there are a lot of additional things I could set up on my website. However, I have not found a clear and simple explanation (which a novice could understand) of what all of these functions actually do. This may be on the system somewhere, but I have not found it.

It would also help if there was some way novices such as myself could get advice on problems with the actual web pages. For instance certain picture components of my website no longer load, in spite of the fact that I haven’t made any changes. I am at a loss as to what has caused this. It would be good to have access to someone who may throw light on such problems – even if it means paying for this service.

I do use the client zone and I find it very useful to be able to manage the admin aspects with you. I do however normally go directly to cpanel from my browser rather than go through the client zone as it is more direct to mange the site that way.

As a suggestion for improvement I would welcome the client zone support to include a live online chat facility to deal with support calls as opposed to it all being sent out in emails. It would be easier to keep the thread for a particular support call. if the chat was not live then at least have a series of messages within a blog/forum style page.

The truth of the matter is that the Client Zone is the best because it has actually put together all the client info in one package. THE ADVANTAGE IS THE QUICK ACCESS TO THE CLIENT PROFILE. The only thing that I think is short here is where one can just send a comment without having to use the 24 Hour Support. "The comment bar/ box"
