MyBackups Online Backup Technical Specifications

• Compresses your data to about half the original size before sending it to the server.
• Your data is encrypted using 448 bit encryption before sending it over the network and then is transferred using 128 bit SSL encryption. Once on the server, it is encrypted and is only accessible using your encryption key.
• Stores your data on a primary storage platform in a secure data centre.
• The primary platform is replicated to a mirrored platform in a different data centre.
• After the first backup, MyBackups works out what has changed on your PC and only sends these changes. Therefore, after your first big backup is done, it is as quick as sending a large email to backup everything every day.
• Stores up to 30 versions of your data on the server, going back one calendar month.
• Restoring a file is done online and you can select one file to restore, or all your data.
• MyBackups runs on most versions of Windows and Macintosh. Please contact us if you require a Linux client.
• A user with a 1GB MyBackups account will typically use about 5% of their 1GB ADSL cap per month, backing up all their data.
